Rita Delores Zimba (June 3, 1930 - April 27, 2006)
RITA D. ZIMBA, 75, of Deford, died Thursday, April 27, 2006 in her home with her family by her side. She was born June 3, 1930 in Dearborn Township to Coy and Dorothy (Noeske) Mathis. She married William E. Zimba September 9, 1950 in Our Lady of Grace Mission Church Dearborn Township. He died March 4, 2004.
Rita and Bill moved to their farm in Deford September 9, 1950. Rita was a lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She played guitar for the guitar mass for many years. Rita enjoyed playing Bingo. She worked hard with her husband on the farm and was very devoted to her family.
Rita is survived by her children: Bernadette (James) Walters of Bay City, Rita (Eugene) Kaake of Gagetown, W. Jesse (Sally) Zimba of Deford, Lisa (Victor) Johnson of Saginaw, Jennifer Zimba of Gagetown, Edward (Melanie) Zimba of Deford, and Matthew (Jan) Zimba of Deford; grandchildren: Nathan Walters, Joshua Walters, Benjamin (Estee) Zimba, Chelsee Zimba, Emmie Zimba and her sixth grandchild due in June.
Funeral mass and Sunday mass will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006 in St. Michael Catholic Church, Wilmot, with Rev. George Serour and Sr. Riccardina Silvestri officiating. Memorials may be made to the United Hospice of Marlette. Interment is in St. Michael Cemetery, Wilmot. Pallbearers for Mrs. Zimba: Jesse Zimba, Edward Zimba, Matthew Zimba, Nathan Walters, Joshua Walters and Benjamin Zimba.
Visitation: 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Rosary 7 p.m. Saturday evening in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday in church
