JENNIFER MARIE ZIMBA,
56, of Deford, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 peacefully in her home. She was born November 21, 1960 in Marlette to William Edward and Rita Delores (Mathis) Zimba.
Jennifer graduated from Michigan School for the Deaf in 1979. She received her Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Mott Community College. Jennifer attended Holy Family Parish, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette. She read her Bible faithfully each day and always had it open. Jennifer enjoyed watching sports on television especially the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. She loved playing softball and played on an area summer softball league for many years. She worked on her brother Edward's farm providing care for the many calves. Although her independence was very important to Jennifer, her family and the farm were the center of her life. She was particularly close to her brother Edward. She loved her nieces and nephews and often wondered what their future would bring. Holidays brought great joy to Jennifer. Christmas was her favorite and she made sure her nieces and nephews always had gifts. Jennifer knew her death was near and she was looking forward to being able to hear for the very first time especially beautiful music.
Jennifer is survived by her siblings: Bernadette (James) Walters of Bay City, Rita (Eugene) Kaake of Gagetown, W. Jesse (Sally) Zimba of Deford, Lisa (Victor) Johnson of Saginaw, Edward (Melanie) Zimba of Deford, Matthew (Jan) Zimba of Deford; nieces and nephews: Nathan (Lindsey) Walters, Joshua Walters, Benjamin (Allison) Zimba, Chelsee (Michael) Barone, Emmie Zimba, Cade Zimba; great nieces and great nephews: Lennon, Brock, Brielle and the fourth due in May.
