BILL EDWARD ZEIDLER, SR.,
68, of Cass City died following a long illness Sunday, August 16, 2015 in Select Specialty Hospital, Saginaw. He was born February 24, 1947 in Bay City the second of five children born to Carl and Dorothy (Greenleaf) Zeidler. He married Bonnie Butler July 6, 1968 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City.
Bill graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1965. He entered the U.S. Navy after graduation serving during the Vietnam War. He worked for Walbro Corporation as a set up man retiring after 35 years of service. Bill was an active member of Cass City VFW Post #3644 and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Cass City. Bill loved hunting of all types including bear, deer, pheasant, rabbit and turkey. He enjoyed fishing in Michigan and Canada for walleye and perch. He especially enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Hornepayne, Ontario.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children: Bill E. (Amanda) Zeidler, Jr. of Nagaunee and Bethany (Dennis) Rienstra of Howard City; grandchildren: Cassandra, Esdin and McCaiden; sisters: Judy Zeidler of Pigeon, Pat (Curt) Stone of Howell; brothers: Lee Zeidler of Wyoming, MI, Max (Julie) Zeidler of Sandusky; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City with Rev. Steve Bagnall officiating. Interment will take place at a later time. Honorary pallbearers for Mr. Zeidler are his nephews: Kyle Lowe, Kevin Lowe, Dennis Dobson, Adam Dobson, Andrew Zeidler, Aaron Zeidler, Brandon Hartel, Ronnie Voss. Memorials may be made to Cass City VFW Post #3644 or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Military honors under the direction of Cass City VFW Post #3644 and U.S. Navy.
