Marjorie Zander, 92, of Cass City, formerly of Livonia, died Friday, January 17, 2014 in her home. She was born February 22, 1921 in Detroit to Charles Edward and Wilhemina K. (Petersmarck) Walsh. She married Robert William Zander April 28, 1962 in Detroit. He died January 23, 1995.
Marjorie graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit. She completed two years at DPI Business College in Detroit. After completing her schooling Marge worked for General Motors Diesel Engineering Division for ten years. When she married Bob he told her she didn't have to work anymore so she "retired". Marge cared for her mother for 13 years until her death. Marge enjoyed knitting (including knitting dresses), crafts and painting. She and Bob enjoyed many trips traveling the world together. They also loved ballroom dancing together. Marge was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Redford and attended St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Cass City. Marjorie dearly loved her cat, Tori.
Marge is survived by her friends: Barb (Pat) Graham, Barb (Herschel) Adams. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers: Walter Walsh and Charles Walsh.
Funeral service held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Christian Tabares and Sr. Maria Dina Puddu, MC, officiating. Interment will be in Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
