DAPHNE ALICE YOUNG
Daphne A. Young, 83, of Caro, died Saturday, April 30, 2005 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility after a long illness. She was born July 27, 1921 in Elkton to Daniel and Vida (McCullum) Stout. She married Gordon Lloyd Young September 2, 1939 in Elkton. He died August 1, 1998.
Daphne worked in Pontiac and Wahjamega as an Attendant Nurse for over five years. She worked for Pontiac Motors for ten years and for Waite’s Department Store in Pontiac for about four years. Daphne was a member of Mayville Senior Citizens and Tuscola County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed painting ceramics, floral arranging and playing cards.
Daphne is survived by her children: Richard �"Dick” (Mary) Young of Orion, Donna (James) Teets of Imlay City, Judy (Jerry) McBride of Oxford; grandchildren: Vincent (Britta) Young, Mike Young, Lisa (Rich) Charles II, Steve Teets, Greg (Kay Thomas) Teets, Cindy (Jerome) Malinowski, Brian McBride; 12 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Audrey (Robert) McBride of Mt. Morris, Pat Young of Port Hope, Helen Young of Elkton; brother-in-law, John Young of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her infant sister, Laura.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in Kranz Funeral Home Kingston with Doug Bassett, Chaplain of Heartland Hospice officiating. Interment will be in East Dayton Township Cemetery, Caro. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Mid Michigan or Heartland Hospice. Pallbearers for Mrs. Young are Vincent Young, Mike Young, Steve Teets, Greg Teets, Brian McBride, Rich Charles II and Jerome Malinowski.
