JAMES GLYNN WRIGHT
88, of Cass City passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, March 12, 2023. He was born March 10, 1935 in Cookeville, TN to Robert and Sadie (Bowman) Wright. He married Ruth Roberta Endricks on March 15, 1958 in Warren, MI.
Glynn, during the late 1950’s, served with the U.S. Army National Guard. In the early 60’s, Glynn was reactivated and served for a year in Texas during the Cuban missile crisis. Glynn and Ruth together owned and operated Handy Hardware in Warren until they retired in 2005. Glynn was a faithful Christian and was passionately devoted to his wife and family. He enjoyed farming, especially bailing hay, which he continued until the age eighty-three. His hobbies included winning at Euchre, hunting, westerns, playing pool, and bird watching. Glynn served as a Deacon, and later, Elder of the Van Dyke Church of Christ. He was also a long-time member and trustee of the Bad Axe Church of Christ.
Glynn is survived by his wife, Ruth; children: Dave (Freda) Wright of Oxford; Terri (Jerry) Robertson of Atlanta; Barb (Bill) Dempsey of Warren; Dan (Amy) Wright of Warren; son-in-law, Jeff Windsor of Deford; grandchildren: Josh (Ashley), Bobby (Amanda), Rachel (Paul), Adam (Kristen), Rebecca (Brandon), Kayla (Brad), Emily, Ryan, Chelsea (Drew), Robby, Ethan (Ashley), Dixie (John), Grace, Lora, Kenny, Tyler, Christopher, Jackson; sixteen great grandchildren; siblings: Otis (Lynn) Wright, Roberta Turner, Steve (Sandy) Wright; sister-in-law, Milene Steele. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shelly (Wright) Windsor; brother, Al Wright; granddaughter Amber Dempsey
Funeral service held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Bob Brown of Rochester Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to the Bad Axe Church of Christ. Military honors conducted by the Cass City V.F.W. Post # 3644 and the United States Army Honor Guard.
