JOSEPHINE WOLAK
Josephine Wolak, 86, of Kingston, died Monday, December 10, 2007 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit following a long illness. She was born June 9, 1921 in River Rouge to Stanley and Mary (Zawacki) Todis. She married Frank J. Wolak October 28, 1939 in St. Michael Catholic Church, Wilmot. He died December 27, 1998.
Josephine and Frank both worked in factories in Detroit following their marriage to save money to buy a farm. In 1947 they moved to Kingston and began their farming life. Josephine was a wonderful cook and baker. She cooked for her family and the workers who helped on their farm. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting afghans.
Josephine is survived by her children: Kathryn (Sheldon) Brown of Rochester, Thomas F. (Mary) Wolak of Vassar, Philip H. (Linda) Wolak of Mason, Francis (Pamela) Wolak of Clemson, SC, Robert (Chris) Wolak of Saginaw, Gregory Wolak of Sandusky, JoAnn (Bryan) Kurtz of Howell; grandchildren: Jeffrey Wolak, Jennifer Wolak, Angela Wolak, Amy Wolak, Christopher Wolak, Colleen Wolak, Patrick Wolak, Nicholas Wolak, Nathan Wolak, Tyler Wolak, Kamryn Kurtz, Connor Kurtz; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Frank Todis; sisters: Stella Johnson and Bernice May.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007 in St. Michael Catholic Church, Wilmot with Sr. Riccardina Silvestri officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wilmot. Pallbearers for Mrs. Wolak are her grandsons: Nathan Wolak, Nick Wolak, Jeff Wolak, Christopher Wolak, Connor Kurtz, and Tyler Wolak.
