JOSEPH JOHN WINDY,
64, of Calumet, MI, passed away in his former hometown of Cass City on August 14, 2021, after a battle with cancer. He was born on April 30, 1957, in Cass City, the first of six children born to Joseph and Ruth (Bliss) Windy. Joe was married to Lynne Bentley on February 4, 1995.
Joe graduated from Cass City High School in 1976. He then attended trade school for welding with his brother Paul in 1986. Joe worked various jobs in the welding and construction fields. He retired from C.A. Hull in 2014. In his free time, Joe enjoyed spending his time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Following his retirement, Joe also enjoyed working and interacting with co-workers and customers of Campioni’s hardware store in Calumet.
Joe is survived by his siblings: Mary (Rick) Doerr of Cass City, Ruth Langlois of Gagetown, James Windy of Cass City; his nieces: Christina (Craig) Swiderski, Melissa Doerr, Bethany (Greg) Dillon; his nephews: Anthony Langlois, Mitchell Langlois, Mason Doerr; great-nephews: Tristan Swiderski, Riley Swiderski, Logan Doerr, Jackson Royal, Teagan Dillon; great-niece, Josie Dillon; step children: Ragan (Jason) Wilson, Nathan Germain. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Windy; brother, Paul Windy; brother-in-law, Michael Langlois.
A family graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 with interment in Elkland Township Cemetery. Family and friends may share memories, prayers, and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
