KAREN HOPE WILLS,
80, of Cass City, died peacefully at home in the comfort of her family Thursday, May 9, 2019. She was born February 13, 1939 in Highland Park to Merritt Eugene and Eleanor Edith (Surbrook) Otis. She married Harold Theron Wills June 15, 1957 in Cass City Baptist Church.
Karen graduated from Cass City High School in 1956. She worked for General Cable for thirteen years. Karen and Harold worked the family dairy farm together. Later she took a job at Thumb National Bank, where she kept the bank neat and tidy for forty years. She was a long-time attendee of Cass City Missionary Church. Karen had a deep appreciation of antique cars, especially her 1928 Ford Model A Coupe and was a member of Thumb Area Antique Car Club. She was known for her great baked beans and made friends with everyone she met.
Karen is survived by her husband, Harold and their children: Chloe Ann (Paul) Valentine of Fostoria; Kippen Wills of Ypsilanti; Tonna (Dan) Wilcox of Grand Blanc; grandchildren: Amy (Brian) Jaskiewicz, Scott (Kristen) Valentine, Katelyn Valentine, Taryn Kelley, Lane Wilcox; great grandchildren: Piper Valentine, Jameson Jaskiewicz, Sawyer Valentine; sister, Mary (Dave) Baker of Grayling; nieces and nephews; many loving friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in Cass City Missionary Church with Pastor Phil Burkett officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cass City Missionary Church. Pallbearers for Mrs. Wills will be: Brent Mitchell, Lee Kilbourn, Paul Valentine, Dan Wilcox, Kippen Wills, Scott Valentine, Brian Jaskiewicz.
