FRED WILLIAM WIDGER
Fred W. Widger, 72, of Kingston, died Sunday, November 30, 2008 in his home. He was born February 19, 1936 in Marlette to A. “Fay” and Edna Kathleen (Garrett) Widger. He married Juanita Merle Ross September 26, 1959 in Marlette.
Fred was a lifelong dairy farmer until 1977 when he sold the cows and began a job with Kingston Community Schools. He worked there until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Clifford Lions Club and the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Fred loved to deer hunt. He enjoyed camping and woodworking, making many treasures for his family. Fred loved to have his family near and especially loved Sunday dinners when the entire family gathered to share a meal and each other’s company.
Fred is survived by his wife, Juanita; children: Tracy (Lorn Harneck) Smith of Kingston, Jeff (Loretha) Widger of Lacey, WA, Brad (Ginny) Widger of New Hudson, Amy (Tim) Barden of Kingston, Rob (Patricia) Widger of Fenton; grandchildren: Heather Smith, Nathan Harneck, Crystal (Charles) Kuhn, Monique Widger, Tenee (Orlando) Harris, Jeffrey Widger Jr., Grant Widger, Lauren Widger, Berlin Barden, James Barden, Bailey Barden, Emma Widger, Kyle Widger; great grandchildren: Renee, Elijah, Jasmine, Lorenzo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Martha Campbell, Edna Bussure; brother, Paul Widger.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 in Kranz Funeral Home Kingston with Debra L. Kranz, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston.
