DANNY RAY WHITTAKER
Danny Whittaker, 63, of Deford died following a short illness Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center. He was born February 24, 1955 in Caro, Michigan to Guy and Irene (Frank) Whittaker. He married Kathleen “Kathy” Mary Graichen on October 5, 1974 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cass City, Michigan.
Danny attended Cass City High School. He worked as a roofer for different companies in the Detroit area for many years. Danny enjoyed woodworking, building decks and other construction projects. He spent time camping, especially in Forester Park on the lake shore. Danny loved spending time in the outdoors, hunting deer and pheasants and walleye fishing in Sebewaing.
Danny is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Cory Whittaker of Deford; brothers: Guy Whittaker of Portland, Oregon; Randy (Diane) Whittaker of Caro; sisters: Tammy Dicks of Caro; Brenda Kilbourn of Deford; Kathy (Neil) Daniels of Kingston; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his infant son, Kevin Daniel Whittaker; brother, Jerry Whittaker; sister, Sharon Whittaker.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2018 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Wayne Russell of Faith Free Methodist Church of Snover officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
