JANICE MARIE WARNER
81, of Deford, died Thursday, February 24, 2022 in Heritage Hill Assisted Living, Caro. She was born August 13, 1940 in Bay City to John Arthur and Margaret (Bublitz) Obertein. She married Laverne Lee “George” Sommer. Later, she married Clinton Glen Warner on November 10, 1978 in Caro. He died May 24, 2021.
Janice worked at the A&P store in Bay City as a cashier before working for GM until retirement. In her younger years, she played the cello and organ. As a craft maker, Janice painted and staining various items. Janice enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Playing bingo and gambling at the casino always made her happy. Janice was a wonderful cook and took pride in keeping her house clean. She loved her companion Lhasa Apso, named Lady.
Janice is survived by her children: Randall (Sunny) Sommer of Akron, John (Connie) Sommer of Deford; grandchildren: Anthony Sommer, Shawn Sommer, Caden Sommer; three great-grandchildren; brother, Rick (Michelle) Obertein of Bay City; sister, Carol (CJ) Gerard of Essexville; uncle, Ralph (Marcy) Bublitz of Fairgrove; aunt, Jean Bublitz of Fairgrove; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Warner of Deford; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husbands; son, Lee Sommer; father-in-law, Duane Warner.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Interment in Novesta Township Cemetery in the spring.
