HARRIET RUTH WARNER
Harriet R. Warner, 81, of Deford, died Friday, September 19, 2008 in Covenant Health Care System, Cooper Campus, Saginaw. She was born September 27, 1926 in Deford to Lloyd and Effie (Cuer) Warner. Harriet graduated from Cass City High School in 1945 and from County Normal in 1946. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 1958 from Central Michigan University. Harriet taught school at Crawford Country School, Mosher Country School and then for Deford and Cass City School Systems for a total of 38 years. She retired in 1984. Harriet was baptized in the Deford United Methodist Church in 1943 and attended there until the church closed. She taught Sunday school and was a very faithful worker for her church. Harriet lived at Rendon’s Young at Heart for 8 ½ years.
Harriet is survived by her brother, Duane (Mary Jane) Warner of Deford; nephews: Clinton (Janice) Warner of Deford, Jeffery (Tanya) Warner of Deford, Scott Warner of Seattle, WA; nieces, Linda Walker of Harrison, Karen Craft of Caro; several cousins, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; baby brother, James Warner; brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Dorothy Warner; special cousins: Effie Hildinger, Alva Allen, Burton Allen.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in Kranz Funeral Home �- Cass City with Pastor David Hill of Cass City First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rawson Memorial Library.
