HOPE LOUISE WALTER,
66, of Deford, passed away in her home on September 8, 2021. She was born on September 9, 1954 in Detroit to George Crumb Hoffman and Hope Louise Waggoner. She married Richard Walter on November 21, 1973. They were married for forty-seven years.
Hope graduated from Ferndale High School in the class of 1972. She lived in Oak Park, Royal Oak, Troy, Columbiaville (Barnes Lake), Marlette, Lexington and Deford. Hope worked at A&W in Lexington as a teenager. Faithful and loving, Hope loved to cook and was an expert at making the most intricate doilies and loved crocheting. She also liked to watch and help in numerous construction projects. Hope loved her children and grandchildren and more than ever and never got enough of them. She understood her need of a savior and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age, understanding that her salvation was purely by grace and nothing she could physically do to merit it. It is a comfort knowing that she is in the very presence of Jesus.
Hope is survived by her husband, Richard; four sons: Richard Walter Jr. of West End, NC, Kenneth Walter of Lapeer, Jon Walter of West End, NC, Paul Walter of Raeford, NC; grandchildren: Natalie, Matthew, Avery, Kennedy; several nieces and nephews; and will be missed by many friends, acquaintances and anyone that met her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bud Hoffman; sisters: Susan Orluck, Dawn Lewis.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral will be planned. Family and friends may share memories, prayers, and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
