ROY ROBERT WAGG
Roy R. Wagg, 83 of Cass City died following a lengthy battle with cancer Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Heritage Hill Assisted Living Facility in Caro. He was born January 29, 1935 in Greenleaf Township to Roy Nelson and Freda Millie (Kelley) Wagg. Roy married Shirley Alice Dorland November 1, 1958 in the old Cass City United Methodist Church in Cass City. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2017.
Roy graduated from Cass City High School in 1953. He grew up working alongside his dad on the family dairy farm, continuing to run the operations until 1986. Roy later went on to work and retire from Walbro. He served on the Elkland Township Board of Review for forty years. Roy was an active member of Cass City United Methodist Church where he served on many committees. He enjoyed bowling, playing euchre, and square dancing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Favorite activities included cards, board games, making popcorn balls and frosting sugar cookies. He was also a masterful wood worker and made beautiful furniture.
Roy is survived by his children: Karen (Brian) Brown of Wyoming, Kevin (Karen) Wagg of Brighton, Kimberly (William) Bailey of Redford; grandchildren: Heather, Stephenie, Andrew, Daniel (Nicole), Jeremy, Jennifer, Zachary, Natalie; great grandchildren: Austin, Cody, Landon, Parker, Preston; sisters-in-law: Donna Dorland of Shabbona; Lois (Newell) Harris of Fountain Hills, AZ; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Alexander.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Ray Scherbarth of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church of Birmingham, officiating. Interment in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Pallbearers for Mr. Wagg: grandsons: Daniel, Jeremy, Zachary, son-in-laws: Brian Brown, Bill Bailey, and family friend John Tilt. Memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
