William J. Vine, 78, of Deford, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, died Thursday, November 21, 2002 in his daughter’s home. He was born June 28, 1924 in Pontiac, to John and Helen (McNaley) Vine. He married Barbara Moore January, 1947 in Bloomfield Hills. She died in 1997.
William was a US Army Veteran. He worked for General Motors retiring from Pontiac Engineering after 27 years. William was a member of the Grand Trunk Western Historical Society and the Ann Arbor Railroad Technical and Historical Association. He loved the railroad, and avidly collected and photographed related items and scenes.
William is survived by his children: Susan Mascorro of Deford, Richard (Laurel) Vine of Clarkston, Gail (Gary) Bacon of Linden, Grace (Jim) Beasley of AZ; grandchildren: Andrea (Mike) Frederick, Richard (Debra) Mascorro, Alex (Colleen) Mascorro, Shawn (Amy) Vine, Kurt Vine, Eric Petri; Gary (Natalie) Bacon, Suzee Bacon, Sam Green; 8 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; sister-in-law, Jaquita Vine of Pontiac. He is preceded in death by a brother, Edward Vine.
Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later time. Memorials may be made to United Hospice of Marlette.
