Verna R. VanNorman, 91, of Decker died Sunday, June 8, 2003 in Hills and Dales General Hospital, Cass City. She was born January 6, 1912 in Marlette to Hairm and Florence Flannigan. She married Virgil Doyle VanNorman November 8, 1930 in Elkton. He died April 20, 1988.
Verna farmed with her husband and also worked at Walbro. She was a member of Deford Community Church. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Verna is survived by her daughter, Eunice “Esther” Hopkins of Midland; grandchildren: Laurie (Craig) Reinbolt of St. Charles, Julaine (Scott) Haremski of Freeland; great grandchildren: Angela Dennison of Saginaw Kyle and Lindsay Haremski of Freeland; great great grandchildren: Bailey and Morgen Dennison; sister, Lucille Cole. She is preceded in death by her siblings: Emma Amanda Waun, Bessie Waun, and Victor Flannigan.
Funeral services held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Deford Community Church, Deford, with Rev. David Mercer officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Township Cemetery, Sanilac County, MI. Memorials may be made to the Deford Community Church.
