DEBORA SUE VANHORN,
52, of Deford, died following a short illness, Saturday, August 4, 2012 in her home. She was born February 21, 1960 in Limestone, ME to Gerald and Norine (Cowper) Kelley. She married Paul Brent VanHorn June 29, 1985 in Lamotte Missionary Church, Sanilac County.
Debbie graduated from Kingston High School in 1978. She received her BA in Social Studies with an Elementary Education certification from Spring Arbor University continuing her education at Saginaw Valley State University. Debbie was a Sixth grade teacher for Kingston Community Schools. She previously taught Music, Art, Special Education and Fourth grade in Kingston. She was an active and devoted member of Kingston Wesleyan Church and played piano for the church. Debbie enjoyed crocheting and reading, especially mysteries and romance novels. She loved traveling and camping with her family, especially her recent first time canoe ride.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Paul; sons: Brent, Kyle and Aaron all at home; parents, Gerald and Norine Kelley of Deford; brother, Gerald (Tina) Kelley II of Fredrick, MD; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Pastor Len Wyatt officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston. Pallbearers for Mrs. VanHorn: Danny Wenzlaff, Scott Boyl, Tristin Pennington, Kevin VanHorn, Justin Diegel and Lane Walker.
