DOROTHY I. "DOLLY" TRACY,
87, of Cass City, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 in Hills and Dales General Hospital, Cass City. She was born January 12, 1924 in Derby, England to Walter and Dorothy (Kinsey) Harlow. She married Leo Edward Tracy September 27, 1945 in Derby, England. He died January 6, 1997.
Dolly came to America June 7, 1947. She worked for Hills and Dales General Hospital as a Supervisor in the kitchen and linen departments for over 30 years. Dolly was a life member of the O.E. S. She attended Farver Road Baptist Church for many years. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Dolly enjoyed knitting, bowling and playing BINGO. She loved music and loved to sing and dance. Dolly truly loved and enjoyed her family and friends. She had a beautiful smile and could always make you laugh.
Dolly is survived by her children: Gary (Peggy) Tracy of Sanford, NC, Carol (Richard) Gaffney of Cass City, Dorothy Caverly of Kingston, Teresa (Herbert) Williams of Deneden, FL, Christopher (Tracy) Tracy of Aberdeen, MD; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters: Margaret Winfield of England, Janet (Roger) Pritchett of England; sisters-in-laws: Iris Harlow of England, Doreen Harlow of England; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Debra Brown of Kingston United Methodist Church and Rev. Duane Plonta of Farver Road Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Tracy: Kris Lynn, Mark Lynn, Tom Dorland, Michael Furness, Todd Furness and Jacob Williams. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
