JOAN MARIE TOMICH
74, of Gagetown, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Friday, November 18, 2022. She was born March 7, 1948 in Pigeon to Thomas and Donna (Burrows) Salcido. Joan married Barry T. Kuhl on October 22, 1966. He passed away on June 9, 1973. She married Wayne K. Tomich on November 8, 1975. He passed away on June 8, 2008.
Joan attended St. Agatha Catholic School in Gagetown for eight years. She was baptized, confirmed, and received first communion at St. Agatha Catholic Church. Joan graduated from Owendale-Gagetown Area High School in 1966. She worked on the assembly line for Automotive Industries in Owendale from 1966 to 1973. Together, Joan and Wayne owned Mr. Kelly’s Market in Gagetown for seven years. Following the sale of their store, she attended Howard’s Beauty Academy in Caro. Joan opened her own business, the Hair’s To U Salon in Gagetown and retired over twenty years later. Some of her best memories were trips with Wayne traveling the country to his work conventions. She also enjoyed traveling to Tennessee and visiting casinos with her cousin Sandy. Joan loved the Christmas season, watching Hallmark movies, decorating her home, and hosting Christmas dinner for her entire family. She enjoyed craft shows, bird watching, collecting angels, and her flower garden. Joan was also an avid New York Yankee’s fan like her dad. She was extremely proud of her beloved eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her children: Toni (Henry) Erenfejcht of Sebewaing, William Kuhl of Gagetown, Michael (Shelly) Tomich of Charlotte, Jason Tomich (Kim Stender) of Cass City, Kelly (John) Limberger of Caro; brothers and sisters: Donna Lee (Andy) Nichols of Caro, Tom (Joanie) Salcido of Englewood, TN; Mike (Beth) Salcido of North Branch; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of thirty-two years, Wayne; nephew, Thomas Remsing; dear friend, Joan Lopez.
Funeral mass held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, Gagetown with Fr. Robert Pare officiating. Interment will be in Grant Township Cemetery.
