LINDA LOUISE THORNTON,
61, of Kingston, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in St. Joseph Hospital, Pontiac. She was born June 21, 1948 in Pontiac to Russell A. and Mary A. (Brown) Thornton, Jr..
Linda was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #7 in Caro where she served as Chaplain. She loved Bingo and playing cards. Linda is formerly of Pontiac but has lived in Kingston since 2001. She loved people, everyone was a friend. She never met a stranger. Linda was called “Mom” by various exchange students.
Linda is survived by her siblings: Judy (Robert) Smith of Kingston, Bonnie (Edward) Keding of Orion, John Thornton of Orion, Patrick Thornton of Cass City, Deborah Thornton of Kingston; lifelong best friend, Debra Dickinson of Caro; nieces and nephews: Rob (Becky) Smith, Brandy (Jay) Symons, Toni (Paul) McDougal, Tara (Eric) Olar, Jonnie (Rich) Brown, Theresa (Mike) Thelan, Ryan Thornton, Heather Thornton, Shaun Thornton; several great nieces and nephews; aunts: Jeanette (Roy) Commins of Orion, Mary Rose Swain of Zanesville, OH; numerous cousins and many friends.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home Kingston. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers for Linda: Shaun Thornton, Ryan Thornton, Giovan McDougal, Naron McDougal, Rob Smith, Rich Brown, Jay Symons, Eric Olar, Paul McDougal. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
