RUBY MARION THORNE
Ruby M. Thorne, 96, of Cass City, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Vadavilla AFC Home in Unionville, following a long illness. She was born October 10, 1911 in Evergreen Township to Fred and Amy (Wentworth) Palmateer. She married Lyle Biddle October 24, 1953. He died March 24, 1978. She later married Allan Thorne October 26, 1983. He died January 22, 1984.
Ruby was a member of the Cass City First Baptist church and the Retired Persons of Cass City. She volunteered as a gray lady in the hospital and later volunteered in the school cafeteria.
Ruby is survived by her son, Paul (Sandra) Miller of Grand Blanc; step-daughter, Patricia (Stanley) Hall of Springfield, IL; step-sons: Emerson Biddle and Donald Biddle; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Stanley Palmateer, Arnold Palmateer; sister, Maxine Acre.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. David Hill of Cass City First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Cass City First Baptist Church.
