Mildred Thompson

Mildred “Midge” I. Thompson, 92, of Cass City, died Friday, October 31, 2003, in Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe. She was born June 4, 1911 in Bingham to Oscar and Ethel (Hammontree) Boone. She married Frank Spoor in 1928. He died February 27, 1973. She married Bruce A. Thompson June 22, 1977 in Traverse City. He died April 9, 2001.

Mildred was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. Her belief in God was strong and constant. She was a loving wife and mother. She worked as a volunteer at Hills and Dales General Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She had a great sense of humor up to the end. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.

Midge is survived by her children: Naida (Ed) Doerr of Caseville, Winona (Al) Farrington of Bitely, Kay (Glen) Cohoon of Romulus, Sharon (Jim) Frantz of Rapid River; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Spoor of Lake Ann; stepchildren, Judy (Jim) Pryor of Adrian, Gregory Thompson of Cass City; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; sister, Onalee Goff of Farmington. She is preceded in death by her son, Duane Spoor; brothers: Clayton Boone, Quentin Boone, Orville Boone, Harold Boone and Howard Boone; sister, Ethel Crumb.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at Cass City United Methodist Church, with Rev. George Ward officiating. Inurnment is 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2003 in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens, Traverse City. Memorials may be made to the Cass City United Methodist Church.

Visitation: 10 to 11 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2003 in Cass City United Methodist Church, Cass City
