MARY ANN TENCZER,
82, of Gagetown, died unexpectedly Friday, February 10, 2017 in her home. She was born February 14, 1934 in Tuscola County to John Steve and Regina (Kleido) Tenczer.
Mary Ann was employed as the assistance payments worker with the Tuscola County Department of Human Services and later with the Huron County Department of Human Services retiring as support specialist. She started the food pantry program in Huron County and arranged for area youths to attend Youth Haven Camp and the Bay Shore Camp. Mary Ann was a lifelong member of St. Agatha Catholic Church and was involved in a variety of church activities. She loved to travel, Las Vegas and Disney were among her favorite places. Mary Ann has a large collection of Ellery Queen and Agatha Christie novels. She was also a member of the Caro Art Society and the Bay City Players.
Mary Ann is survived by her cousins: Jacqueline (John) O'Polka of Essexville; Geraldine Washabaugh of El Cajon, CA; Barbara Taylor of Saginaw; Mitzi ( Mark) Kushinsky of Saginaw; Terrance Heineman of Saginaw. She is preceded in death by her cousins: Phyllis Root, Mildred Tamblyn, Don Schwartz.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown with Rev. Thomas Held officiating. Interment will take place in St. Agatha Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bay Shore Camp. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
