ELIZABETH "BETTY" RAE TEAL,
68, of Marlette, died following a long illness Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center, Marlette. She was born January 4, 1944 in Oklahoma City, OK to Joseph and Harriet (Smith) Grace. She married James Arthur Teal August 5, 1966 in Colorado Springs, CO.
Betty enjoyed horseback riding as a child even after taking a bad fall that cost her a broken arm and other injuries. She loved to swim and always wanted to learn to water-ski. When James and Betty were first married Betty wasn't the best cook but soon learned from her mother in law and grew into a great cook. Betty enjoyed crocheting, plastic canvas needlepoint and reading mysteries and love stories. Most of all she enjoyed her family and was a loyal, loving wife and mother and grandmother.
Betty is survived by her husband, James; children: Debra (David) Delong of Imlay City, Thomas (Barbara) Teal of Kingston, Carol (Doug) Commons of Dayton, OH; grandchildren: James, Katlyn, Thomas, July "Alli", Christian, Dawn, Rachel, Becky and Samantha; sisters: Pat Bailey of Lindsborg, KS, Mary "Angela" (TC) Andrewson of Lindsborg, KS; brothers: Steve Einfeldt of Salina, KS, Mike (Janice) Einfeldt of Alaska, Mark (Patti) Einfeldt of Wentzville, MO, Bill Einfeldt of Longford, KS, Jim Einfeldt of Lindsborg, KS; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dawn Michelle and her parents.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston guided by her son, Thomas. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery.
