Eugene Tait

EUGENE LYNN TAIT,
67, died following a long illness on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, MI. He was born February 21, 1949 in Caro, MI. He was the second of four children born to Eugene and Reita (Bennett) Tait.

Eugene graduated from Kingston Community Schools, where he also played varsity football. He graduated with the class of 1967. Eugene started working for General Motors shortly after high school graduation. He worked there for over 30 years retiring in 1999. He enjoyed gardening and farming. Being outside brought joy to Eugene, whether deer hunting, camping or just working in his garden. He had a passion for Detroit sports, always tuning in to watch Tiger baseball and Lions football. Church attendance and spending time with family provided fellowship and joy to him. Over the years Eugene attended: Faith Baptist Church in Chelsea, Westwinds Community Church in Jackson, and First Baptist Church of Manistique.

Eugene is survived by his children: Monica (Joseph) DeLisle of Gulliver, Jason (Amy Vashon) Tait of Eaton Rapids, Aaron (Erica) Tait of Washington Township, Joel (Rachael) Tait of Fenton; grandchildren: Krista (Josh Grenier) DeLisle, Joseph DeLisle, Justin DeLisle, Avery Tait, Amelia Tait, Laney Tait, Hana Tait; great grandchildren: Ashton, Jadyn, Keaton, Trevyn, Kyah; mother, Reita Tait-Wilson of Grand Rapids; sisters: Cynthia (Don) McAlpine of Caro, Cheri Tait of Grand Rapids, Alesia (Paul) Albin of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Tait.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Caro with Pastor Ronald Wiegand and Pastor Gould officiating. Burial will be in East Dayton Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Tait will be: Jason Tait, Aaron Tait, Joel Tait, Joseph DeLisle II, Justin DeLisle, and Walter Witkovsky. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church of Chelsea, Westwinds Community Church of Jackson or First Baptist Church, Manistique.
