ESTHER ELAINE SUTHERLAND,
97, of Cass City, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City. She was born September 15, 1912 in Royal Oak to Theodore and Hattie (Moshier) LaRoque.
Esther married Silas Sutherland of Snover. They had six children: Carl (Linda) Sutherland of Mio, Ruth (Joe) Senopole of Detroit, Barbara Poe of Orlando, FL, Merl Sutherland of Ocala, FL, Louise (Dale) Buehrly of Cass City, Donna (Gene) Wilson of Nashville, TN. Esther had one daughter by Ernie Thurman, Pam (Tim) Kemmis of Florida. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Doris LaRoque; 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by brothers: Ted LaRoque, Gene LaRoque; sister, Irene Gernicki; son-in-law, Robert Poe.
Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at her graveside in Mosher Cemetery in Hemans. Memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church or the Friends of the Thumb Octagon Barn.
