GRACE ELIZABETH STUART
82, of Deford, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in Covenant Medical Center Cooper Campus, Saginaw. She was born May 17, 1938 in Cass City to Archie and Martha (Brown) McPhail. She married Shirley Helton Stuart June 12, 1971 in Taylor. He died May 14, 1997.
Grace was a homemaker and enjoyed feeding and watching birds. She loved attending family reunions and weddings. A good cook, she made the best potato salad and many tasty desserts. One of Grace’s most memorable experiences was when she traveled to West Virginia to visit her in-laws; she took time to enjoy the water and collect stones. Grace was a professional talker; most phone conversations lasted a minimum of one hour. She was a loyal and dedicated fan of the Detroit Tigers and attended many games, even as a young child. Lucky by nature, Grace had fun at casinos and almost always scratched a winning lottery ticket. She enjoyed going for car rides, especially during the fall season when the colors were beautiful.
Grace is survived by her special cousin, Don McPhail of Kingston; goddaughter, Kelly Kratz of Caro; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; brothers: Morris McPhail, Robert McPhail, Charles McPhail.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City with Brad Speirs officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Kidney Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers, and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
