LELA MAY STRANAHAN
93, of Cass City, died Sunday, May 29, 2022 in Covenant HealthCare-Harrison Campus, Saginaw. She was born June 19, 1928 in Flushing to Devere Gibson and Luella Maude (Lee) Stranahan.
Lela graduated from Oxford High School. She worked at Aetna Insurance Company in Detroit as a claims processor. In her younger years, Lela enjoyed cooking, reading cookbooks, and going out to eat. She studied Michigan history and loved traveling throughout the United States. Lela enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and Jeopardy was her favorite game show. She was a member of the Flushing Historical Society and the Cass City United Methodist Church. Lela will be remembered as being personable and sociable. She had a likeable and friendly personality.
Lela is survived by her brother, Phillip Stranahan of Harbor Beach; niece, Ann Zsolzai of Mayville; nephews: Phillip Stranahan, Jr. of Long Beach, CA; Gibson Stranahan of Fort Worth, TX; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Stranahan; sister, Mary Owen; sister-in-law, Sheryl Stranahan; nephew, Richard Curtis.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Pastor Connie Sassanella of First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Beach officiating. Interment will be in Oxford Township Cemetery, Oxford. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Beach.
