Faye C. Stoll, 75, of Silverwood, died peacefully with her family by her side Thursday, March 22, 2018 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center, Marlette. She was born May 1, 1942 in Lapeer the first of three children born to Ronald Charles and Jacqueline Edith (Fenner) Walker. She married Dallas Marvin Stoll, Sr. December 21, 1961 in Metamora. He died June 11, 2017.
Faye graduated from Lapeer High School and attended Baker Business University receiving her certificate in Junior Accounting. She was always a high achiever-starting around 10 in 4H and winning a trip to Chicago at 16 as Michigan’s Shorthorn Lassie Queen, having won multiple firsts in showmanship and Grand Champion shorthorn steer. Faye was a stay at home mom managing the homestead while her husband was an over the road trucker. She was very involved in 4H as a leader, founding a new 4H club in Kingston and teaching sewing and other skills for many years. Faye encouraged her children and grandchildren to be very active in 4H, showing steers, lambs, horses along with sewing, cooking, canning, woodwork, beading, etc. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Kingston Elevator and opened her own quilt shop in Kingston (above Barron’s antiques) called Grainery Quiltworks Plus. This is where she taught sewing, quilting, basket weaving and stained-glass classes. Faye was a longtime member of Kingston Wesleyan Church and served as the church treasurer for the past 15 years. She was a founding member and current Chairman of the Thumb Thimble Quilt Guild. Faye also served many roles for Koylton Township over the past 36 years as a Trustee, Planning Commission member and Treasurer.
Faye is survived by her children: Shelly (Lem) Childers of Millington, Dallas (Denise) Stoll, Jr. of Hale, Eric (Mary) Stoll of Silverwood, Sarah (David) Green of Kingston; grandchildren: Nicole (Bobby) Guerrero, Yvonne Rohn, Dallas (Katy) Stoll, Ben Stoll, Mandi Bartnik, Erica (Craig) DeVooght, Jessica Stoll, Garrett Green, Ethan Green; great grandchildren: Damien, Enzo, Amelie; siblings: Dale (SueAnn) Walker of Metamora, Susie (Rick) Sites of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Rev. Len Wyatt officiating. Memorials may be made to United Hospice Service. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
