CORNELIA J. STARK
Cornelia J. Stark, 86, of Decker, died Christmas morning, Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in St. Mary’s Medical Center as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident 14 days earlier. She was born March 19, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA. She married Walter Andrew Stark April 12, 1958. He died December 26, 2000.
Cornelia graduated from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA with a Bachelor of Education degree. She worked for the United States Government for many years. Cornelia was a member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church. She was very active and enjoyed sewing, gardening and quilting.
Cornelia is survived by her children: Susanne M. (Raymond) Bednark of West Bloomfield, Christine T. (Frank) Purcell of Coolville, OH, John C. Stark of Plano, TX; grandchildren: Tim Bednark, Karen (Mark) Parenti, Julie Bednark, Mary (David) Schafer, Rev. Mark Purcell, Matthew (Maryann) Purcell, Andrew Stark, Adam Stark; great grandchildren: Lewis, Sophia, Jay, Ella, Austin, Sydney; cousin, Carol McClellan of Dayton, OH. She was preceded in death by her four brothers.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Purcell, O.S.B., of Mary Mother of God Abbey, Richmond, VA and Rev. Stephen J. Fillion officiating. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Memorials may be made to Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
