DEAN �"DEAN-O E. STADLBERGER
Dean E. Stadlberger, 80, of Mayville, died Monday, April 4, 2005 in Aleda E. Lutz Veteran Medical Center, Saginaw, after a short illness. He was born August 26, 1924 at home in Gratiot County to Earnest Dean and Hattie (Dean) Stadlberger. He married Coralie Akin and, after her death, Viola Haidysz, who is also deceased.
Dean-o served in the U.S. Army as an MP during World War II. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for road construction. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324. In his early years, Dean-o worked for Frank Fullmer Stockyards. He later worked for Flint Asphalt and Paving Road Construction. He was a member of Kingston AMVETS Post #1072, Fraternal Order of Eagles #4099 in Mayville, Caro Moose Lodge #1049 and was a lifetime member of White Creek Club. Dean-o enjoyed the casinos, playing euchre, pool, riding the golf carts on golfing occasions, completing the Jumble crossword puzzle in the Detroit Free Press and watching Vanna White on the Wheel of Fortune. He also loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family and friends.
Dean-o is survived by his children: Tamara (Kevin) Bayliss of Lapeer, Eric (Cori) Stadlberger of Brown City, Maryanna (Jeffrey) Hartsell of Kingston, Earnest Dean Stadlberger of St. Ignace; grandchildren: Brad (Shari) Cloutier, Bryan Cloutier, Troy Stadlberger, Shana Stadlberger, Ryan Stadlberger, Eric Hartsell; great grandchildren: Lakin, Cortland, Liberty, Leigha, Landon; brothers: Harold (Eloise) Stadlberger of Ithaca, Robert (Maybell) Stadlberger of Stanton; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2005 in Kingston United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Butters officiating. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Interment is in New Haven Township Cemetery, Carson City. Pallbearers for Mr. Stadlberger: Brad Cloutier, Bryan Cloutier, Troy Stadlberger, Ryan Stadlberger, Kevin Richter, Bob Hunter, Dick Fullmer and B.J. Pine.
