LUCILLE MARY STACER
Lucille M. Stacer, 71, of Ruth, died Saturday, October 8, 2005 in Huron County Medical Care Facility after a long illness. She was born July 16, 1934 at home in Sherman Township, Huron County to Felix and Josephine (Oswald) Kranz. She married Quentin Stacer July 11, 1953 in Ruth. He died August 25, 1997.
Lucille graduated from St. Peter & Paul Catholic School in 1952. After graduation she worked in Detroit for Fruehauf Trailer. After their marriage, Lucille worked with her husband on their Dairy farm in Sanilac County until 1976 when they moved to Ruth. She was an avid bowler, bowling on many leagues over the years and holding the offices of Secretary and Treasurer of the Womens Mixed League and served a term as Secretary and Treasurer of the local WBA chapter. Lucille was an active member of Farm Bureau. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, reading and playing cards with friends. Lucille was a life member of Parisville VFW Auxiliary Post #5740. She served as Treasurer for 35 years and was a very active member. For 35 years Lucille & Quentin marked veterans graves in five cemeteries in Sanilac County each year before Memorial Day. Lucille was a member of St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in Forestville.
Lucille is survived by her brothers: Joseph (Lucille) Kranz of Bellport, NY, John (Judy) Kranz of Chico, CA, James (Debra) Kranz of Cass City; sister, Beverly (Paul Reifert) Kranz of Chico, CA; brother-in-law, Merlin (Magdelene) Stacer of Ruth; sister-in-law, Cecilia Stacer of Bad Axe; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Juanita (Nicholas) Clor, Harold (Loretta) Stacer, Jerome (Delores) Stacer, Wilfred Stacer, Robert Stacer.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2005 in St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church, Forestville, with Rev. Paul Bala officiating. Interment will be in St. John Chrysostom Cemetery, Forestville. Memorials may be made to St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church. Pallbearers for Mrs. Stacer are: Jeff Stacer, David Stacer, Adam Kranz, Jamie Schultz, Tom Wright and Charlie Stacer.
