Dorothy Smith

Dorothy Smith, 90, of Cass City, died Sunday, August 3, 2003 in Crestmont Convalescent Home, Fenton. She was born July 31, 1913 in Cass City to George Herman and Mabel Rachel (Gleasure) Stine. She married Edward Carmack Smith July 4, 1031 in Pontiac. He died May 10, 1989.

Dorothy left Cass City to work as a nurse in Pontiac for 20 years, where she met and married Edward. They lived in Westland before moving back to Cass City in 1976. She was a member of the Cass City Church of Christ.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane (Lyle) Wheeler of Fenton; grandchildren: Stephen (Michelle) Wheeler of Muskegon, Mark (Susan) Wheeler of Davison, Penny Wheeler of Brighton, Brian Wheeler of Brighton, John (Susan) Wheeler of Brighton, Robert (Cheryl) Wheeler of West Liberty, OH, Patsy Lambert of Heartland, William (Karen) Wheeler of Pinckney, Betsy (David) Krupansky of Brighton; 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Rev. Bruce (Otelia) E. Stine of Seattle, WA; sisters-in-law: Roberta Stine of Cass City, Elizabeth Stine of Essexville, Jean French of GA; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her infant daughter and infant sister; brothers: Harrison and Garrison Stine; sister, Delores Smith; brothers-in-law, Jesse French and George Smith.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2003 Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Mr. Lyle Clarke of Cass City Church of Christ officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to the Cass City Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society. Pallbearers for Mrs. Smith are her grandsons: Stephen, Mark, Brian, John, Robert and William Wheeler.
