Alexis Smith

June 12, 2005 — July 19, 2012

ALEXIS "LEXI" JADE SMITH,
our Lexibug, took her final breaths Thursday, July 19, 2012 in her home with her loving family by her side. She was born only seven years ago, June 12, 2005 in Covenant Medical Center Cooper Campus in Saginaw to Randy Lee and Heidi Lynn (Hartwick) Smith II.

Lexi was in first grade at Campbell Elementary School in Cass City. Although school was fun for Lexi, she took full advantage of her time away from the classroom and delighted in the activities she was able to share with her family and friends. During a return visit to school she shared her love for bracelets by teaching her classmates how to make friendship bracelets. Recently Lexi was able to celebrate her seventh birthday at one of her favorite places, the beach. Lexi was a young, passionate artist. She loved art and enjoyed drawing, painting and creating her own unique masterpieces. Her favorite game was Uno and she would play with everyone who visited. She adored Dr. Seuss and all his characters and lived her life by one of his quotes, "from there to here and here to there, funny things are everywhere." Lexi shared her laughter and infectious smile with everyone.

From before her diagnosis, Lexi was surrounded in love by her family, friends and community and became an inspiration to all. Left to love and cherish her memory are her parents, Randy and Heidi; her grandparents: Rick and Donna Hartwick of Cass City, Randy and Jackie Smith of Decker; great grandparents: Janet Francis of Cass City, Elwyn and Toni Hartwick of Mayville, Helen and Ray Waggoner of Vassar; Don and Janice Smith of Shabbona, Joyce Barnes of Snover; aunts and uncles: Kyle (Jennifer) Hartwick of Cass City, Monica (Kevin) Rushlo of Flint, Dan Smith of Cass City, Liza (Kenny) Periso of Kingston, Jessica Smith of Decker, Joshua Smith of Decker; cousins: Olyviya, Chelste, Logan, Gabby, Cameron, Gareth, Emili, Aryana, Kylee, Raeven, Jordan, Destiny, Rileigh and Landon; many great aunts and uncles and her best friend Olivia Krueger. She is preceded in death by her uncle, Ryan Hartwick; great grandparents: Elmer Francis, Ed Barnes, and Al Creason; great uncle, Fred Francis.
