Edna L. Simcox, 91, of Decker, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Covenant-Healthcare, Harrison in Saginaw following a brief illness. She was born January 6, 1918 in Sullivan County, Tennessee to Henry and Laura (Elsea) Tallman. She married Irby A. Simcox, January 2, 1936 in Johnson City, Tennessee. He died January 2, 1983.
Edna attended the Cass City Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, reading, canning and exercising. Edna also enjoyed going on senior citizen trips. She was past co-president of the Cass City Senior Group.
Edna is survived by her children: Curtis (Agnes) Simcox of Huntington Beach, CA; Kermit (Janie) Simcox of Sterling Heights, Carrie (David) Mitchell of Roseville; grandchildren: Kathy (Tim) Hamilton, Carrie (Joe) Benoit, Curtis Simcox, Christopher (Amber) Simcox, Clinton Simcox, Kelly (Neal) Wozniak, Brian (Cassie) Simcox, Kimberly (Ted) Piotrowski, Kristine (Edward) Downey, Jason Mitchell; 19 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by brothers: Roy, Ed and Willard Tallman; sister, Ruth Starnes.
Friends may call at the Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009 Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Lyle Clarke of Cass City Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cass City Church of Christ.
