Marlene A. Sieradzki, 84, of Deford passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 12, 1938 in Detroit to Anthony and Margaret (Bott) Tomaszewski. Marlene lost both parents at an early age and went to live with her Grandma Adele Tomaszewski. She married Chester Sieradzki on June 18, 1955 in Detroit.
They lived in Detroit until 1964 then moved with their six children to Deford where she lived for fifty-nine years. Marlene worked in Hudson’s Department Store in Detroit then once she moved to Deford she became a farmer’s wife. She worked at General Cable and then she was a school bus driver for Cass City Public Schools until she retired after forty years. While working as a bus driver she also worked part time for Eggs by JNR, then became a CNA and worked for Tender Care Nursing Home. After retiring from Tender Care, she volunteered at the Thumb Octagon Barn in Gagetown. In her spare time, she loved her bowling leagues in Cass City and Caro. She was an avid gardener and became a Master Gardener. She loved hanging out with the girls playing cards in Bad Axe once a week.
Marlene is survived by her children: Chester (Mary Alice Denaro) Sieradzki of Ormand Beach, FL; Michael (Stephanie) Sieradzki of Portsmouth, VA; Linda (Bobby) Walsh of Clermont, FL; Judith (Phil) Hartsell of Dunnellon, FL; Beth (Clayton) Harmer of Lake Odessa, MI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marlene is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Sieradzki; son, Ron Sieradzki; special friend, Charlie Creason and her best friend, Pudge.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2023 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, funeral celebrant officiating. Interment will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Ubly in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Marlene Sieradzki to a local animal shelter near you.
