THOMAS PETROS SHAFOU,
36, of Clifford died unexpectedly Sunday, August 7, 2011 in Covenant Medical Center Cooper Campus. He was born November 30, 1974 in Botsford Hospital, Farmington to Khalid Petros and Sandra Shafou.
Thomas completed his high school degree at Marlette High School. He worked as a laborer for several small factories until he became disabled in 2002 including Mold Masters in Lapeer, Lear in Marlette and Die Tech in Imlay City. Thomas loved deer hunting and enjoyed the anticipation of the season for months before.
Thomas is survived by his parents: Ronald and Sandra Pietrzak of Clifford; siblings: Khalid (Tracy) Shafou of Florida, Maryann (Jorge) Shafou of Richmond, Joseph Pietrzak of Clifford, Christopher Pietrzak of Brown City; nieces and nephews: Nathan, Natalie, Isaac, Grace, Maya; grandfather, Eugene J. (Marcia) Pietrzak of Rochester; good friend, Desiree Brooks of Marlette; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Khalid Shafou; uncle, Akram Shafou; grandmother: Rajo Shafou; Aunt, Clemintine Shafou; grandparents: Wilmer Ferrell and Mary Ellen Ferrell; uncle, Wilmer Ferrell; grandmother, Rose M. Pietrzak.
Memorial service to be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Memphis First Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Ross officiating. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
