MARK JOSEPH SEFTON
59, of Caro, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 3, 2022 in his home. He was born May 19, 1962 in Cass City to Joseph and Helen (Hackel) Sefton.

Mark graduated from Kingston High School in 1980. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1984-1990 where he was honorably discharged. Mark worked many years in the automotive industry. He was a volunteer firefighter for Kingston Fire and Rescue for over 20 years. Mark always looked forward to Sunday dinners with his mom, sister Nancy, and Aunt Joyce. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan and loved attending games at the Joe Louis Arena. Mark followed the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan football team. He adored his grandchildren and treasured time spent with them. Mark also spoiled his two special dogs, Maizie and Jerzie.

Mark is survived by his mother, Helen Sefton of Kingston; children: Daniel Sefton of Sault Ste. Marie, Jessica (Brian) Sears of Memphis, TN; Joseph Sefton of Memphis, TN; grandchildren: Emma Sears, Miranda Sears, and one on the way, Markus Sears; sisters: Cathy (Randy) Whalen of Baldwin, Pat (Steve) Collins of Grand Rapids, Nancy Diebel of Caro; and several nieces and nephews; Mark’s children’s mother, Lisa Sefton-Shank of Plain City, UT; close friends: Dave (Holly) Randlett, Doug (Jeanette) Randlett, Jim Somerville. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sefton; sister, Carol Sefton; mother-in-law, Marie Mutart; brother-in-law, Dave Diebel, sister-in-law, Renee Pardee; uncle, RJ Gilmore; aunt, Joyce Gilmore; nephew, Joe Gyomory.

Memorial service held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Sam Leppert, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. In remembrance of Mark, please feel free to wear Red Wings, Detroit Lions, U of M or red and blue colors to the service. Memorials may be made to the Kingston Fire and Rescue.
