GOLDIE “DEE” ELIZABETH SCOTT,
28, of Kingston, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 12, 2010 in her home in Kingston. She was born June 5, 1982 in Saginaw to Robert and Martha (Prisock) Scott.
Dee graduated from Caro High School in 2000. She has worked at area restaurants including McDonalds in Caro, Pizza Hut, Brickhouse, Brentwood and Colwood Bar. She moved to East Pointe and worked for Olive Garden before returning to Kingston to work as a bartender at Kingston Times. Dee was very creative. She loved dance and art. Dee took dance lessons at the Sally Doerr Dance Studio in Cass City for over five years. She completed two years with the Art Institute. Dee worked with chalk, ink and other mediums. She loved to play pool using her pink pool stick and she was a Detroit Tiger fan. At one time Dee sang with a death metal group and enjoyed listening to death metal music. Dee was the life of the party. She lit up the room when she walked in. She always had something nice to say. She will be greatly missed.
Those left to remember and cherish Dee’s memory are her parents, Robert and Martha Scott of Kingston; brothers: Brian (Carla) Clegg of Hudo, TX, Robert Scott Jr. of Kingston; sisters: Regina Oates of Canton, MS, Virginia Scott of Kingston; nieces and nephews: James, Anna, Logan, Sydney, Thomas and Alyssa; grandparents: Virginia Clegg of Taylor, TX, Allen and Goldie (Dee’s namesake) Scott of Caro; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. Dee is preceded in death by her grandfather, Shelby Prisock; step-grandfather, Marvin Clegg; great grandparents: Jim and Martha Orton, Bertha Orton, Julius and Jennie Dunn, Rubin and Kate Prisock.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home in Kingston with Pastor Ron Comfort of Ellington Church of the Nazarene officiating. Pallbearers for Ms. Scott: Robert Scott Jr., Michael Ruiz, Sam Meyer, Brian Clegg, Wayne West, Robert Graves and Steven Scott. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
