Paul G. Schmotzer, 64, of Deford died unexpectedly Saturday, August 27, 2011 in his home. He was born May 1, 1947 in Pittsburgh to Paul Anthony and Lavina Erma (Majeski) Schmotzer. He married Anne Mae Most February 21, 1981 in Lapeer County.
Paul worked on an assembly line for General Motors for 20 years. He was a collector of Avon products. Paul enjoyed fishing and spending time on his boat. He also liked playing pool, listening to music and watching movies. Paul loved birds, especially his pets, Felix, George and Amigo. In addition to his birds, he found great joy in his dog Pete.
Paul is survived by his wife Anne; children: Shawn (Candi) Schmotzer of Kingston, Jason (Erin) Schmotzer of Armada, Carrie (William) Miller of Cass City, Tommy (Brenda McFarland) Schmotzer of Cass City; grandchildren: Chelsi, Kyle, Hailey, Kendra; brother, Gary Schmotzer of Pittsburgh; several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service held 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Mark Evans of St. John Lutheran Church in Romeo officiating.
