PAUL FREDERICK SCHENK
Paul F. Schenk, 92, of Filion, died Monday, March 17, 2008 in Courtney Manor, Bad Axe, following a long illness. He was born January 18, 1916 in Lamotte, to Edgar and Nellie (Finkbeiner) Schenk. He married Martha E. Stark June 1, 1936 in Bad Axe. She died January 23, 2008.
Paul retired from General Motors in 1981 after many years of service. He loved to garden and grew incredible amounts of tomato plants. After retirement, Paul enjoyed working on televisions, electronics and small engines like lawn mowers. He loved to read and was a sports fan with the Detroit Tigers being his favorite team. Paul truly enjoyed being with family especially his grandchildren. When they were little he would take them fishing to the local creeks. Paul had a wonderful sense of humor.
Paul is survived by his children: Shirley Arquette of Filion and Paul C. �"Junior” Schenk of Kaleva; grandchildren: John (Donna) Arquette, Charleen (Roger) Dennis, Darlene (Andrew) Anderson, Deborah Burchett, JoAnn (Mike) Furness, Lori (Bob) Schultz, Tony (Perry) Minton, Randy Williams, Dawna (Allen) Nelson; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sisters: Ruth Schenk of Port Austin, Ila Schenk of Imlay City, Lila (Robert) Stone of Bad Axe; brother: Walter �"Gerald” (Donna) Schenk of Vassar, Clare Schenk of Vassar; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Lawrence Schenk; daughter, Betty Williams; granddaughter, Sharon Dennis; son-in-law, Joseph Arquette; daughter-in-law, Edith Schenk; brothers: Kenneth Schenk, Arnold Schenk, Harold Schenk; sister, Aletha Gerabowski.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008 in Kranz Funeral Home �- Cass City with Pastor Jerome Bouverette of Restoration Outreach Center officiating. Interment will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in Bach. Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund.
