MARTHA EDNA SCHENK
Martha E. Schenk, 88, of Filion, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in Courtney Manor, Bad Axe, following a long illness. She was born February 13, 1919 in Detroit to Carl and Mary (Reher) Stark. She married Paul Frederick Schenk June 1, 1936 in Bad Axe.
Martha loved to cook and she loved to iron. She took great pride in caring for her home and caring for her family. She was very good at remembering dates, sending cards and words of encouragement for birthdays, anniversaries and illnesses. Marthas faith was very important to her. She spent a great deal of time reading the bible and was a great prayer warrior.
Martha is survived by her husband, Paul Schenk; children: Shirley Arquette of Filion and Paul C. �"Junior Schenk of Kaleva; grandchildren: John (Donna) Arquette, Charleen (Roger) Dennis, Darlene (Andrew) Anderson, Deborah Burchett, JoAnn (Mike) Furness, Lori (Bob) Schultz, Tony (Perry) Minton, Randy Williams, Dawna (Allen) Nelson; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; brothers: Herb Stark of Pigeon, Art Stark of Nebraska, Bill Stark of St. Clair Shores; sisters: Alma Boitos of Frankenmuth, Lillian Irion of Frankenmuth, Betty Stark of Gagetown. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Williams; granddaughter, Sharon Dennis; son-in-law, Joseph Arquette; daughter-in-law, Edith Schenk; sister, Ruth Castraba; brothers: John Stark and Ed Stark and three infant siblings.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Kranz Funeral Home �- Cass City with Pastor Jerome Bouverette of Restoration Outreach Center officiating.
