COREY JAMES SANDERS,
18, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Hills and Dales General Hospital in Cass City. He was born May 19, 1991 in Lapeer Regional Hospital to David and Mary Kay (Mead) Sanders.

Corey was currently a junior in Cass City High School. He was previously home schooled and a student at Wesleyan Christian Academy in North Branch. Corey loved sports. He watched Basketball, Football and NASCAR on television. Jeff Gordon was one of his favorites. He played football in Middle School and loved to “shoot hoops” in his driveway. Corey was a member of the Cass City High School band playing his grandpa’s trumpet. He liked to play the piano. He would sit down and create a song for you on the spot. Corey was a very kind, thoughtful, gentle and loving young man. He loved the Lord and wanted to be a minister, like his Grandpa.

Those left to cherish Corey’s memory are his parents, David and Mary Kay Sanders; his siblings: Kayla Sanders, Leah Sanders, Elizabeth Sanders and Benjamin Sanders all at home; grandparents: Dave and Suzanne Sanders of Kingston, Pastor Keith and Anna May Mead of Mayville; aunts and uncles: Jeremy (Lori) Sanders of Deford, Laurie (Bernie) Lossing of Millington, Andy (Lori) Mead of Mayville, David (Michelle) Mead of North Branch, Don Vaughn of Yukon, OK; many cousins, great aunts and uncles; great grandmother, Elsie Sanders of Standish. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Fay Ann Vaughn.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2009 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Pastor Steven Kellett of Bethel C & MA, Marlette, officiating. Interment will be in West Dayton Cemetery, Mayville. Pallbearers for Corey are: Aaron Mead, Justus Mead, Cameron Simpson, Tony Lossing, Jonathon Lossing, Gregg Leslie and Jeff Hartel. Memorials may be made to Corey Sanders Memorial Fund through Thumb National Bank. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
