Albert M. Ruggles, 72, of Kingston, died Monday, February 9, 2009 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center with his family at his side. He was born December 22, 1936 in Kingston to Bruce and Irene (Graham) Ruggles. He married Glennadine Sebert March 26, 1960 in Millington.
Albert was a lifelong farmer, born and raised on the family farm just east of Kingston, farming with his brother Arlo as A & A Farms. He served in the United States Navy for 2 years. Albert served as Koylton Township Supervisor for years. He was a member of Farm Bureau, and Kingston Lions Club, a former member and past president of Tuscola County Soil Conservation. Albert was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church, serving on the trustee board for years. He was a former member of Kingston Community School Board and ASCS. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Albert is survived by his wife, Glennadine; daughters: Gayle Farver of Kingston, Kim (Rob) Phillips of Kingston, Lynn (Blaine) Phillips of Kingston; grandchildren: Ashley Farver, Stephine Farver, Daniel Phillips, Ryan Phillips, Kristi Phillips, David Phillips; brothers: Clayton (Virginia) Ruggles of Frontenac, MN, Fred (Nancy) Ruggles of Kingston, Arlo (Ann) Ruggles of Kingston; sisters: Barbara (Keith) Green of Caro, Patricia (Bob) Lewis of Grand Rapids, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2009 in Kingston United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Ruggles will be: Wade Kappen, Brad Parker, Doug Peter, Kevin Richter, Dale Marquardt, Rob Zyrowski. Memorials may be made to Name Your Star Fund at Kingston United Methodist Church, United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center or Kingston United Methodist Church.
