ROBERT LUTHER ROWLAND,
83, of Kingston died following a short illness Friday, November 2, 2018 in his home with his family by his side. He was born March 15, 1935 in Kalkaska the only child born to Lester C. and Marcelle Irene Rowland. He married Jeanne Marie Scott October 4, 1969 in Waterford. They recently celebrated their 49th anniversary.
Bob completed his GED through Pontiac Motors. He retired from Pontiac Motors after almost forty years of service. Bob enjoyed building and driving stock cars. He also helped the boys with their race cars. After Bob retired he returned to the Seventh Day Adventist Church which is how he was raised. In the last while Bob would whistle along with the Christian music on television even though he was no longer speaking.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanne; children: Michael “Mike” Robert (Tammy) Rowland of Macksville, KS, Robert “Wade” Rowland of Caro, Kevin Rowland of Vassar, Michelle (Gregory) DuFour of Brandon Township, Scott (Trina) Rowland of Caro; step children: Mark (Linda) Retzlaff of Holly, Lois (Thomas) Stetler of South Bordman; grandchildren: Jordan Rowland, Myah Rowland, Nicholas DuFour, Heather (Allison) DuFour, Tara Rowland, Michael (Brooke) Retzlaff, Jonathon Retzlaff, David Retzlaff, Karen (Kyle) Mosco, Katie (Chris) Farrell, Kyle Stetler; 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 in Unionville Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Dick Bullock officiating. Memorials may be made to Unionville Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Cadillac.
