Normaleen J. Root, 79, of Cass City, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Cass City. She was born June 4, 1926 at home in Sanilac County to Ross Glen and Mabel (Hawksworth) Brown. She married James Arthur McIntosh February 11, 1944 in Pontiac. He died July 11, 1974. She later married Jerome �"Jerry” Root August 31, 1985 in Shabbona United Methodist Church. He died December 31, 2005.
Normaleen worked for Walbro Manufacturing for about 20 years. She also worked with her husband on their farm. Normaleen was a member of Cass City Business and Professional Women, Shabbona United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed crocheting and was a wonderful baker.
Normaleen is survived by her sons: Bob (Shirley) McIntosh of Cass City, Dale (Lynda) McIntosh of Cass City; step children: Carol (Larry) Summers of Gagetown, Jim (Kelly) Root of Cass City; grandchildren: Debbie (Craig) Abell, Shannon (Dieter) Roth, Bryce McIntosh, Tom (Melinda) Summers, Terri (Wade) Stilwell, Tiffany Root, Cassie Root, Alex Magiera, Aaron Magiera; great grandchildren: Zachary Abell, Shelby Abell, Summer McIntosh, Matthew Roth, Paige Roth, Kendall Stilwell, Justin Summers; sister, Pat Hester of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ione Smiley.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2006 in Shabbona United Methodist Church with Rev. Ellen Burns officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Home and Hospice Advantage or Bay Shore Camp.
