ELAINE ALICE ROMAIN
80, of Cass City, died following a lengthy illness, Sunday, August 1, 2021 in her home. She was born June 30, 1941 in Cass City to Kenneth and Evelyn (Doerr) Butler. She married Derek Alger Romain on August 19, 1961 in Caro.
Elaine was employed at General Cable as a foreman for twenty-six years. Later she went on to work for the Charmont Restaurant and also for the post office as a letter carrier for fifteen years. Elaine was an avid bowler and played on many area bowling leagues. She served as secretary for the Women’s International Bowling Congress, Thumb Chapter. Elaine loved her grandchildren and spending time with them, especially when they would come to her pool and swim for hours.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Derek; daughter, Wendy Romain (Steve DeLong) of Cass City; son, Rod (Ashley) Romain of Caro; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Sweeney of Ubly. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Florence (Alfred) Witherspoon.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Austin Keller of Ubly Christian Church officiating.
