DUNCAN WILLIAM ROLSTON,
70, of Bad Axe, died unexpectedly Monday, November 8, 2010 in Huron Medical Center, Bad Axe. He was born January 31, 1940 at home in Greenleaf Township, Sanilac County to William Roy and Mae (Russell) Rolston. He married Bonita “Bonnie” Lucille Dohring March 13, 1964 in Cass City.
Duncan worked 33 years for Evans Products in Gagetown until they closed. He then worked for Volmer Readi Mix in Bad Axe for nine years until his retirement. In his younger years, Duncan was a Golden Glove amateur boxer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved working on anything mechanical, fixing trucks and cars. Duncan enjoyed the time he spent outside cutting trees for firewood, working with his loader and dump trucks. He truly loved life.
Duncan is survived by his wife, Bonita; children: Carol Kroetch of Caro, Rhonda Krueger of Cass City, Randy Rolston of Cass City, Donald (Kelly) Hill of Kinde; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters: Delores (Lloyd) Damm of Gagetown, Betty (George) Stephenson of Rapson, Tanya “Tiny” (Robert) Howard of Cass City, Diane (Phillip) Czarniak of Bad Axe, Debbie Rolston of Bad Axe; brothers: Dennis “Duke” (Bonnie) Rolston of Cass City, Robert (Nancy) Rolston of Gagetown; many nieces and nephews; his faithful and loving dogs: Meathead, Dodger and Skippy. He is also survived by a long list of friends he shared his life with. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jean Michalski; brothers: Howard Rolston and Ted Rolston.
Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Associate Pastor Judy Esckilson of Cass City Church of the Nazarene officiating.
