Gerald A. Roeske, 83, of Kingston, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 10, 2010 in Covenant HealthCare, Cooper Campus, Saginaw. He was born October 20, 1926 in Detroit to Arthur and Alverna (Hess) Roeske. He married Jacqueline Barrons March 8, 1975 in the Kingston United Methodist Church.
Gerald enjoyed sailing the Great Lakes and loved living in the country. He served in the U.S. Navy as Seaman 1st Class in Bremerton, Washington. Gerald worked at Creative Industries in Detroit for 35 years as a pattern and model maker for the automotive industry. He retired in 1990. Gerald collected guns and guitars. He was an airplane pilot and enjoyed making ship models and working with wood.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; children, Jere Roeske of Richmond; Kenneth (Sandy) Roeske of Chesterfield Township; Rita McGowan of Royal Oak, Diana (Charlie) Cassisi of Mt. Clemens, Vicki (Ron) Stolzman of Decker, Scott (Dawn) Woidan of Cass City; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Gerald; brother, Ronnie; sister, Marie.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in Kingston United Methodist Church with Rev. Debra Brown officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Military honors under the direction of Kingston VFW Post #5317. Memorials may be made to Kingston VFW Post #5317.
